Credit Search Information

When you place an order, you consent to a credit search as part of the credit application process.

Although the Order form is not a ‘finance agreement’, this notice confirms that your details have been sent to one of our finance partners, and we are ready to proceed with your order. It’s important to understand the following:

To process your order, the finance company will conduct credit and identity checks with one or more credit reference agencies (CRAs). They may also perform periodic checks as part of managing your account.

Your personal information will be shared with CRAs, who will provide the finance company with details about your credit application, financial situation, and history. This includes public records (like the electoral register) and shared credit information, as well as fraud prevention data.

This information is used to:

  • Evaluate your creditworthiness and ability to afford the product;
  • Verify the accuracy of your provided information;
  • Prevent fraud, money laundering, and other criminal activities;
  • Manage your account(s);
  • Trace and recover debts; and
  • Ensure any offers are suitable for your circumstances.

The finance company will continue to share information with CRAs throughout your relationship. CRAs will be notified of settled accounts, and if you fail to repay in full and on time, they will record the outstanding debt. This information may be shared with other organisations.

Be aware that a search footprint will be placed on your credit file when CRAs receive a search from the finance company, which may be visible to other lenders.

Your personal information will also be shared with fraud prevention agencies to prevent fraud and money laundering and to verify your identity. If fraud is detected, you may be refused certain services, finance, or employment. For more details on how your information will be used by the finance company or ‘PDC Vehicles’, please email [email protected].
